Modernization of "M. Strekalovskiy" type ships

Mur­mansk Ship­ping Com­pa­ny is car­rying out mo­der­ni­za­ti­on of "M. Stre­ka­lov­skiy" ty­pe ships to in­crease com­pe­ti­ti­ve­ness and im­pro­ve eco­no­mic and field-per­forman­ce da­ta. The pur­po­se of mo­der­ni­za­ti­on is to in­crease car­go ca­pa­ci­ty of bulk car­riers.

Mo­der­ni­za­ti­on of the abo­ve type ships in­cludes:

  • In­stal­la­ti­on of duct side keels for sta­bi­li­zing;
  • Dismant­ling of deck car­go cranes;
  • Lengthening of the ship by ad­ding one mo­re hold;
  • Hull re­newal up to re­li­abi­li­ty le­vel 2SS;
  • Af­ter mo­der­ni­za­ti­on of the ship to chan­ge fu­el of the main en­gine (ME) and auxilia­ry diesel ge­ne­ra­tor (ADG) and auxiliary boiler (AB) for hea­vy fuel of vis­co­si­ty no less than 380 cSt° at 50° C.

Af­ter mo­der­ni­za­ti­on the ships cor­res­pond to class RS (STAR) Arc 4[1] AUT 2 Bulk Carrier (ESP).
