Purchase and modernization of Suezmax tankers

Contracts for purchase and mo­derni­za­ti­on of SUEZMAX type tan­kers ha­ve been signed to diver­si­fy the ac­ti­vi­ty and to in­crease eco­no­mic sta­bi­li­ty of the com­pa­ny.

Mur­mansk Ship­ping Com­pa­ny has acquired single-hulled tan­kers SUEZMAX "Na­ta­ly" and "Na­dezh­da". To meet the require­ments of Inter­na­tional Con­ven­tion MARPOL 73/78 tanker "Nataly" was mo­der­nized in 2006. She was equip­ped with double bot­tom and double sides in the car­go tank area. Car­go ca­pa­ci­ty has not been changed.

The tan­ker was given Dual class of Rus­si­an Ma­ri­ti­me Re­gi­ster of Ship­ping (RS) and Det Norske Ve­ri­tas (DNV).

As a re­sult of mo­der­ni­za­ti­on tan­ker "Na­ta­ly" has im­proved her:

  • Economic data
  • Field-performance data

Be­cause of mo­der­ni­za­tion and Dual Clas­si­fi­ca­ti­on tan­ker "Na­ta­ly" has been acknow­led­ged by the fol­lowing oil com­pa­nies: Shell, BHP Billiton, Chevron, BP and Lukoil.

The second tanker of this class, "Na­dezhda", was mo­der­nized in February 2008.
