Purchase of "Grumant" type bulk carriers

Contracts for de­li­ve­ry of new modern ships ha­ve been signed ac­cording the program­me of re­newal of bulk car­riers, which was ac­cep­ted by Board of Di­rectors in 2004. These bulk car­riers cor­respond to mo­dern secu­rity and ef­fi­cient exploita­ti­on stan­dards. Their dead­weight is 23700 class RS KM (STAR) LU4 [i] A2 BULK CARRIER BC-A (ESP).

The first bulk car­rier of this ty­pe, "Grumant", was de­li­ve­red in August 2006.

Bulk car­rier "Grumant" is re­gistered un­der the flag of the Rus­si­an Fe­de­ra­tion. It car­ries bulk car­go from the ports of the Bal­tic, the Ba­rents and the White seas to British and European ports mainly, in compliance with con­tracts signed with Me­chel Energy AG (Zug, Switzerland) Com­pa­ny.

The bulk car­rier "Po­morye" was de­li­ve­red in August 2007, the bulk car­rier “Za­po­lyarye” was de­li­ve­red in August 2008.

The fourth bulk car­rier of this type "No­vaya Zemlya" was de­li­ve­red in March 2009.

Mur­mansk Ship­ping Com­pa­ny is working on the bulk car­riers re­newal program­me.
